You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out.

NAME THE FIVE MOST ANNOYING CHARACTERS EVER
1 - Jack Shepherd aka Dr Dull aka oh-God-not-him-again-why-can't-we-have-m ore-of-Ben-or-Des-or-Hurley-or-something? - LOST
Whiny, silver-spooned, needy, overbearing, passive-aggressive, boring-ass douche. A piss-poor choice of emotional centre/pragmatist in an engaging, weirdie-poo drama with a fantastic ensemble cast. He gets out-charisma'd by spores. Should have died along with TV's Greg Grunberg in the pilot and spared us all a flood of Jears.
2 - J.D. - Scrubs
See above for all character traits. His whiny neediness is supposed, somehow, to be endearing, and the throughly destructive, self-obsessed relationship with Elliot is supposed to be a great romance. Like Dr Dull and Lost, I find the least sympathetic character in the great ensemble of Scrubs to be the pragmatist. I'm with Team Janitor - let's wipe that idiot out.
3 - "Mr Big" - Sex And The City
Oooh, he's rich! And he's a thoroughly egotistical, smug, manipulative, petulant manchild! And did I mention, he's rich? That totally makes up for all his flaws! How I wish I could marry a man like that! By which, I mean rich!
4 - Nick Curran - Basic Instinct
A middle aged man who goes to a nightclub in a jumper and jeans. Need I say more? What an absolute cunt.
5 - Simon Moon - Frasier
It's not just because he causes ructions in one of my favourite Ships, honest. It's not just because he's a poorly sketched characature that just doesn't stand up amongst the lovingly created, well-rounded characters of the main ensemble... I might have been able to stand all these flaws, if it weren't for The Accent. The Accent to any Briton is like nails down a blackboard. Plus, Anthony LaPaglia has always looked a little bit like GW Bush to me, so Simon is like the Apocalyptic Dormouse of Doom crashing around the Frasier set with a dreadful GeneriLimey accent. Blech.

The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request a drabble* of ANY pairing/character of their choosing (of ANY fandom) from me (with a prompt, if it pleases you to give me one). In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level.
*It will not be a 'Drabble', since it will not be exactly 100 words, but it will be a very short story or scene.

Flipping knackered at the moment - Alex has snuck back to 2 night feeds now - managed to technically make it just one by waking him for a feed at 10.30 last night, but I still didn't get to sleep til midnight-ish, then had to get up to feed him again at 2.20, got back to sleep at 3-ish then had to take both kids at ten to 7. This is after about 5 hours broken sleep the night before, as well. And it doesn't really stop in the day now with the 2 of them - once Vi's napping and the washing up's done, Alex is awake again for another feed - so no opportunity to nap. Considering this week's only 4 days, it's going on forever! All writing has ceased at present - it's taken me about twice as long as it usually does just to write this!
Reposting the photo meme - need more suggestions to make it worth breaking out the camera!
List up to three (3) things you would like me to take pictures of. Once I've gathered up all the requests, I'll make a post with the pictures I managed to take.

I've been having wonderful dreams the last couple of mornings. The night before last I dreamt that I was at the BBC with Hubs - only me & Hubs were also sort-of Violet & Alex as teenagers - and there was a producer there who really wanted to make our script, which was a little bit Zombie Dad and a little bit something else - something about superhero siblings, because occasionally, the dream would flit into the narrative of the script we wanted to get commissioned. I just remembered this feeling of elation and excitement that the powers that be were so interested in helping me tell my story... then, I woke up. But that excited feeling remained. This is probably my brain's way of telling me to start putting some proper thought towards Zombie Dad.
Last night I had a dream that was The Sirens of Titan, as made by Matt Groening, with The Spine doing the voice of Malachi Constant (he'd been Tweeting the day before about the peculiarities of being well known for SciFi roles despite not really liking the genre, which must have prompted my brain to cast him in another SciFi role that he would be perfect for). I remember it looked beautiful - very lavish and odd, the way that I picture many of the scenes in the book, and suitably lonely and melancholy as well. I tweeted a description of the dream - partially because it had been so impressive at merging the text of one of my favourite writers, the visual style of one of my favourite animators and the voice of one of my favourite actors so beautifully - but also because Bothering Brent Spiner is one of my favourite Twitter activities. He then made a general tweet that suggested he didn't believe me. Maybe lots of people dreamt about him last night, in the same way that everybody apparently has a Sex Dream about David Mitchell sooner or later. Maybe he's projecting himself. Maybe he's a Witch!
In any case, Twitter is weird and wonderful and still my favourite toy because you can do something as odd & simultaneously mundane as telling Brent Spiner that you just had a dream about him. The 14 year old girl in me really, really wishes she had Twitter.
Anyway. I fancy doing this photo meme again. Nicked it off

tin_o_biscuits was doing this writing meme, or to be more precise, youyou, as it's for anyone looking for prompts/inspiration for a ficlet and has the mental agility to type in a straight line right now - ie, not me!
I'll post the first line of all my full-length fics. You choose one and comment with a drabble/ficlet starting with the same line, unrelated to the original story. Ready? Go!

Still here. Still not popped.
You know what? I'm going to see if I can't start a Meme, just for shits & giggles. It's an idea I came up with the other night...
Female characters tend not to have as much love in Fandom as males as a whole. It's most likely an outcome that results from a number of factors - I'm not just going to blame it on institutional misogyny, I don't think it's that simple. But I still don't like it. So, why not give the women and girls in your fandom/s a bit of love - Post with some of your favourite fictional females, and tell us why you like them. And pass it on!

Simple but highly effective. S1 of Black Books is pretty much Sitcom Heaven as far as I'm concerned - and full of Quotable Quotes ('I've swallowed the Little Book Of Calm!') but this is one of my favourites, for the sheer nuttiness factor. One of my laziest icons - just a favourite quote on a block colour background - no frills.

Done by the Forever Fab Missy C, this is one of an Emo!Colin batch, and a very pretty one too. Depressed Colin is a rare and vulnerable thing, and terribly nice looking. From the ultimate ColAngst episode 'Something Terrible Part 2', the boy broods on the School Stairs with his 90s Curtains, horrible shirt and sovvies. *sigh*. The way Miss C has made this icon makes it look like he's being plagued by a flying Rubik's cube!

Can't remember off the top of my head who made this one - I'd have to check on my Userpics page. But I was delighted to have discovered some Big Train icons, not to mention, animated ones. 'Evil Hypnotist' is a great sketch, almost exclusively because of The Actor Kevin Eldon's typically manic performance... although Mark Heap's spinny bow-tie made me laugh a lot too. This icon's good for when I'm Scheming.

Another really simple one from a slice of Sitcom Heaven - the 'My Lovely Horse' dream sequence from Father Ted. Just took a cap off Youtube, cropped it and badabing - an iconic image of culty weirdness. 'It was a Spiderbaby, Ted!'

Argh! Again, can't recall off the top of my head who made this one, but I'm sure it would be from the
dr_beckett community. Al was always my favourite on Quantum Leap - I loved that cigar chomping, tree-hugging, womanising hologram big time. This icon's good for when I'm stressing out. I use it rather a lot.

I found myself in possession of a collection of penguin pictures (I was making icons for
seal_girl at the time) so I decided to make one into an icon celebrating one of my fave H2G2 quotes ever. Simon Jones' delivery of the line in the radio version (the definitive medium, as far as I'm concerned) is just perfect, and it's a great response to general weirdness. Bit of a lazy icon in itself, but there you go.

From various FListers.
Put your MP3 player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty songs. Post the poem that results. The first line of the twenty-first is the title.
Last Night I Slipped Through Time To A Parallel Dimension
Sinnerman, where he gonna run to?
Goodbye, goodbye...
Who lives in a house like this?
We are the Muses.
Dumb, dumb, so sweet, so young,
The hammering from the pit and the pounding of guns grew louder.
The trouble with your brother, he's always sleeping with your mother,
Jojo was a man who thought he was a loner, but he knew it couldn't last.
This is the way I always dreamed it would be,
Follow me, don't follow me.
Mornington Crescent, I think of you,
Alleluia, Alleluia.
I will beat the odds, I can go the distance,
I'm the motherflippin' rhymnenoscerous.
I see trees of green, red roses too,
The sun has a reason.
There's a monster growing in our heads,
Tequila, it makes me happy.
Stand in the place where you live,
Oh I come from a land, from a faraway place where the caravan camels roam.
